Date Announced: 07 Sep 2009 -- World's Leading Manufacturer of High Power LEDs Selects Veeco MOCVD for Production Ramp PLAINVIEW, N.Y. -- Veeco Instruments Inc. (Nasdaq: VECO) announced today that Philips Lumileds Lighting Company, the world's leading manufacturer of high-power light emitting diodes (LEDs) and a solid-state lighting industry pioneer, has selected Veeco’s TurboDisc® K465™ gallium nitride (GaN) Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) Systems to support its LUXEON LED production ramp. Veeco received a multi-system order for tools to be shipped to Philips Lumileds over the next two to three quarters.
