Date Announced: 17 Sep 2009 TROY, Mich. – September 17, 2009 – ilumisys, Inc., developer and producer of next-generation solid-state lighting technology, announced today that it has granted a license for patents on its light-emitting diode (LED) fluorescent tube replacement to LED Lighting, Inc., of Northbrook, Ill. “LED Lighting has had the privilege of being an ilumisys channel partner and participating in the development stages of ilumisys T-8 replacement lamps,” said Bill Hood, CEO and founder of LED Lighting, Inc. “This licensing agreement allows us to extend and strengthen our relationship with ilumisys, now giving us the ability to offer both premium and value-engineered products to our customers under the LED Lighting brand.” The licensing agreement provides for royalty payments to be made on a per-unit basis in exchange for rights to manufacture and sell products covered by Altair’s patent portfolio. “The additions to the ilumisys licensing partner program have resulted in positive feedback from our customers,” said Dave Simon, president of ilumisys, Inc. “Since the price and performance of LED fluorescent tube replacement products vary, our licensing program allows companies like LED Lighting to provide a range of products to the market.
