Matthew Burstein named director of technical sales and project management for Traxon and e:cue

Burstein is a 20-year lighting veteran with extensive experience in entertainment, event and architectural lighting as well as with theatrical lighting and controls."Matthew is an enormous asset to Traxon and e:cue, and in turn to our customers,” said Tony Carrella, president, Traxon Technologies and e:cue lighting controls. “His experience and knowledge of the industry is unparalleled and he applies that to counseling our customers on how they can best customize our LED systems and controls to create an impactful design that delivers on their vision.”Throughout the years, Burstein’s technical accomplishments have shaped the design and style of some of the most recognizable televised and live events throughout the world. His work includes lighting programmer for the Miss America Pageant; the Country Music Awards; and concert tours for Hootie and the Blowfish, Michael Jackson, and James Taylor. In addition, he served as production manager for First Night Boston and director of production for First Night Y2K Boston and the Mohegan Sun casino. Burstein also spearheaded lighting design projects for the Saudi Aramco Exhibit in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia; Salt Lake Olympic Square for the 2002 Winter Olympics; the Boston Ballet; and the scoreboard for the Miami Heat. Burstein comes to Traxon from Genlyte Controls, where he served as Northeast Regional Sales Manager and as a designer for the company’s Lightolier division. His designs there included Liberty Science Center, Gettysburg Cyclorama, USS Monitor Museum, and National Infantry Museum. Prior to that, he was a manufacturer’s representative for various companies including Martin, NSI, Mobile Laser, Coemar, and Peter E. Schmitt Company. In addition, he was President/Owner of Charles River Marketing & Technical Services and President/CEO of LIT Design Ltd., both in Medway, Mass., and Director of Production for High Output, Inc. in Boston. He kicked off his career in lighting at Martin Professional, Inc. in Hollywood, Fla. as a programmer and service technician.
