ERCO at the trade fair 'Light+Building 2012', hall 3.0, Stand A11

Feb. 23, 2012
Date Announced: 23 Feb 2012 Lüdenscheid - LED-based optoelectronics represents the new key technology for architectural lighting and a core competence of ERCO. At the "Light+Building 2012" held in Frankfurt from 15 - 20 April, the company is set to present its latest innovations in this sector: efficient lighting tools for fascinating lighting concepts offering cost-effective and sustainable solutions for light in architecture."The LED lighting tools from ERCO are opening up enormous potential here, both in terms of lighting design and energy savings," explains Kay Pawlik, Managing Director of ERCO. "This new lighting technology allows for new luminaire shapes, while the light quality meets even the most stringent standards found in museums and galleries."The focal point of the product presentation at stand A11 in hall 3.0 will be the completely new LED spotlight ranges Light Board und Opton. This will be complemented by further evolutions such as in the second generation of Cantax LED spots, Quintessence double-focus downlights with LED, as well as a wide variety of additions to indoor and outdoor ranges.Light Board spotlights for exhibition and presentationThe system design of the Light Board spotlights, floodlights and lens wallwashers is geared for exhibition, retail and presentation lighting. All spotlights and recessed luminaires feature efficient LED technology. Their compact design with integrated control gear and hidden wiring results in striking yet stylistic features. Thanks to the modular structure with interchangeable optical systems and a luminous flux of up to 4320lm, Light Board is able to meet even high performance requirements with great flexibility. ERCO's Spherolit technology also features in Light Board recessed floodlights and recessed lens wallwashers. At 81mm, its very low height allows them to be recessed into false ceilings. Both installation versions of Light Board are also available with the new RGBW varychrome technology: Using Spherolit lens systems, the beams are produced without colour shadows to provide DALI-controlled white hues with excellent colour rendering and variable colour temperature, but also any light colour, from pastel hues all the way to the highly saturated spectrum.Opton spotlights: Economical LED light in the retail sectorThe new Opton spotlights, floodlights and lens wallwashers with LED feature ERCO's Spherolit lens technology, which is easily replaced without tools, alongside a modular design for a wide range of different light distribution patterns and wattages. This makes them particularly suitable for variable lighting requirements as are typical in the retail sector. Due to their low height they are ideal for rooms with low ceilings and for shop windows. The Opton range is also available with the innovative RGBW varychrome technology using Spherolit lenses.Cantax in second generationThe LED-driven spotlights, floodlights and lens wallwashers of the established and successful Cantax range now feature flat light heads in two sizes, specially designed for LEDs. This new design with the same housing size produces twice the amount of luminous flux and adds further wattages and light distributions with Spherolit lens technology, and versions with the innovative RGBW varychrome technology, to the range.Quintessence for rooms with high ceilingsThe double-focus downlights used in the Quintessence range for discreet general lighting in rooms with high ceilings are now also available with LEDs. The optical system of the recessed luminaires uses ERCO's exclusive Spherolit lens technology combined with a matt black anti-glare cone and is virtually free of spill light. A typical application for double-focus downlights is theatres or concert halls where an inconspicuous ceiling and maximum visual comfort are a must.Cylinder surface-mounted and pendant luminaires with LEDThe perfect combination of lamp, lens and control gear of the fully revised Cylinder range results in maximum efficiency. The range includes lighting tools for ambient lighting and wallwashing. Using appropriate accessories, Cylinder can also be mounted as a pendant luminaire.Outdoor luminaires with LEDNew or upgraded versions of such outdoor ranges as Powercast, Beamer, Cylinder, facade luminaire and the IP68 orientation luminaire are now available with cutting-edge LED technology to increase the lighting design options in outdoor areas and maximise potential energy savings. LED modules especially for LED spotlights such as Grasshopper and Powercast are now available with a higher luminous flux in the same housing size or the same luminous flux in a smaller housing size. The consistent extension of the LED range in all areas, which ERCO will present at the Light+Building 2012, marks a new phase of the technology change in architectural lighting: The LED sources are now available in such a wide range of ERCO lighting tools that they offer complete coverage of most practical applications enabling creative lighting concepts, and aid in the implementation of efficient visual comfort.About ERCOERCO GmbH, Lüdenscheid, is one of the leading companies in the luminaire industry. The family business founded in 1934 now operates with over 60 subsidiaries, branches and agencies all around the world. Working together with internationally renowned designers, lighting engineers and architects, ERCO develops hardware and software for all areas of architectural lighting: luminaires and lighting systems for indoor and outdoor areas, as well as lighting control and software for scenographic lighting applications. In keeping with the corporate philosophy of "Light not luminaires," lighting equipment is not offered simply as furnishing for rooms, but rather luminaries are offered as instruments of lighting design. Many demanding architectural projects are illuminated using ERCO equipment, including the Berlin Reichstag, the National Gallery in London and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.
