Date Announced: 10 Apr 2012 Background: The Community Music School, located in Trappe, PA, is a non-profit organization where music education is at the core of their programming. Through private music lessons, classes, ensembles, a community concert series and art gallery, the school’s mission is to contribute to the cultural life of the communities that they serve with programming for all ages. The school previously had 75 watt PAR30 and 90 watt PAR38 halogen lights in the interior of the building. These fixtures consumed over 13,060 watts in energy consumption annually. With this current lighting system, the school also spends over $1,325 per year in maintenance costs. The Client: The Community Music School, located in Trappe, PA Objective: To improve light levels in the interior of the building with a more energy efficient light source, while reducing energy and maintenance costs and consumption.Challenge: The challenge was in trying to reduce energy and maintenance costs without compromising light levels and improving light level conditions for the Community Music School.Resolution: Stouch Lighting was able to provide and successfully install new 15w LED PAR30 Lamps to replace the 75 watt PAR30 and 90 watt PAR38 halogen lights in the Community Music School.Outcome: These new lights will reduce energy costs and consumption by 77%, while eliminating maintenance costs over a 5 year time span. The new lights will provide a higher light out-put with uniformity and no glare, which will improve the overall atmosphere in the interior of the building.
