Harvard appoints new director and board member

Date Announced: 14 Nov 2012 Harvard Engineering, world leader in the design and manufacture of LED drivers and control products for the lighting industry, is pleased to announce it has appointed Rasib Khan as engineering director. Mr. Khan, who joined the company in 2010 as engineering manager, will also become a member of the board. Since joining Harvard two years ago, Mr. Khan has grown the company’s research and development engineering team from 20 to 50 people. He has also been responsible for nurturing and managing high level partnerships with both suppliers and customers. Before joining Harvard, Mr. Khan worked for over 10 years designing and managing complex multidisciplinary RF and power electronics products for the wireless communications and Defence industries. His roles included working as project manager at Ferranti Technologies and research and development manager at Nokia Siemens Network. He also held senior positions at Powersave UK and Filtronic Plc.John McDonnell, managing director at Harvard Engineering commented: “During his time with the company, Rasib has frequently demonstrated his strategic vision and strategic leadership qualities. We are excited to see how the benefits of his experience and his contribution to the board will help the business meet forthcoming opportunities.”Harvard was recently awarded a £2.7 million Regional Growth Fund grant to increase the company’s manufacturing capacity at its facility on the outskirts of Wakefield in West Yorkshire. The investment will also help create 300 jobs at Harvard’s head office, including a number of engineering positions.
