Lowell Spinners ball field scores a home run with Daktronics LED video displays

April 4, 2014
BROOKINGS, S.D. -- New LED video displays designed and manufactured by Daktronics (Nasdaq -- DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., will be another highlight to fans attending Lowell Spinners baseball games at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass. These displays were installed in the fall of 2013.

“We are thrilled to have worked with Daktronics and the City Manager’s Office to bring a state-of-the-art display to LeLacheur Park,” said Spinners President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. “We pride ourselves on providing the best family entertainment to our fans and this new display is going to only enhance the game-day experience beginning on Opening Day.”

The main outdoor display measures approximately 14 feet high by 36 feet wide and features a 15HD pixel layout. It is capable of showing one large image to highlight live video and instant replays. The display can also be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, scoring information and sponsor advertisements.

Two auxiliary displays were added to the facility, one on each side of the main video display. These displays each feature 26 millimeter line spacing and measure approximately 13 feet high by 12 feet wide. They will provide the opportunity to showcase sponsors throughout events and provide up-to-the-minute statistics and game information.

Spinners fans will stay engaged in the game with the displays’ ability to incorporate excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility while providing multiple levels of protection from the elements.

“We are excited to work with the Lowell Spinners and help to improve their game-day with the new LED video displays,” said Dave D’Amico, Daktronics sales representative. “These display upgrades will add even more excitement and entertainment to the fan experience at LeLacheur Park.”

The installation will include Daktronics powerful Dakstats® software solution. Dakstats® is the premiere software for managing game, season and career statistics. It delivers and tracks statistics and in-depth statistical reports for all levels of play from high school to professional.

Daktronics also included its powerful Show Control System with the installation. This industry-leading system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution.
