Daktronics to install LED video display for sports and recreation facility at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse

Oct. 16, 2014
BROOKINGS, S.D. – When Eagles fans attend events at Mitchell Hall Gymnasium in La Crosse, Wisconsin, they will be welcomed by a new LED video display from Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota. As the second video display on campus, it will be used to enhance a number of events including volleyball, basketball, wrestling, gymnastics and other extracurricular activities.

“The University of Wisconsin – La Crosse is eagerly anticipating installation of the new Daktronics video board in our Mitchell Hall gymnasium,” said Interim Director of Athletics, Kim Blum. “The board will allow us to make many positive enhancements to the game-day atmosphere for our students, campus constituents, community supporters and fans. The board will allow us to integrate new and exciting elements into our events. We look forward to continuing our work with Daktronics.”

The display will be mounted to the end wall of the gymnasium and measure approximately 12.5 feet high by 16.5 feet wide. It will feature a tight 6 millimeter line spacing to provide clear, crisp imagery in the form of live video and instant replays. The display can also be sectioned into multiple windows to show scoring and statistical information as well as graphics, animations, sponsor messages and other event information.

In addition to the high contrast imagery provided by this technology, it also features wide viewing angles to provide great views of the display to every seat in the gymnasium.

“We’re proud to partner with the University of Wisconsin La Crosse to install this new video display in Mitchell Hall Gymnasium,” said Joey Hulsebus, Daktronics sales representative. “The display will improve the experience at all sporting events and much more as this facility is used for multiple events throughout the year. It will be exciting to see the effect it has on such events after the installation is complete.”

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
