UV-LED provider Phoseon expands Oregon manufacturing and R&D facility

March 5, 2014
Phoseon Technology today announced a facility expansion that includes additional capacity for manufacturing as well as additional laboratory space for research and development efforts.

The expansion is driven by accelerated worldwide demand for ultraviolet LED technology, which is used to dry and cure inks, coatings and adhesives. UV LED curing is utilized for a variety of industries such as printing, wood finishing and electronics manufacturing. Phoseon’s market-leading UV curing technology allows for accelerated production speeds, lower production costs and reduced energy usage when compared to previous curing methods.

Phoseon's products are designed and manufactured in Hillsboro and exported to markets worldwide. The company has experienced average annual growth rates of 40-50% over the last five years and expects this growth to accelerate in the future as new uses for UV LED curing are realized. Since its founding in 2002, Phoseon has rapidly grown from an Oregon start-up into the world leader of UV LED curing solutions.

“We are very pleased to announce that our Oregon R&D and Manufacturing facility is expanding,” commented Bill Cortelyou, Phoseon President & CEO. “We plan to continue to grow in Oregon -- bringing professional job opportunities for manufacturing and engineering to the local economy.”
