Air Motion Systems unveils XP7 Series LED-UV curing system at PRINT UV 2014

LAS VEGAS, NV - Air Motion Systems, Inc. | AMS UV announces the availability of it's latest and most powerful LED UV curing system - the XP7 Series - introduced at the PRINT UV 2014 Conference, which took place March 2-3 at the Wynn Las Vegas.

The XP7 Series is the newest generation, modular LED UV curing system available from AMS's award-winning PEAK LED-UV product family, and represents a 30% output improvement compared to its market-leading XP5 Series system first announced at drupa 2012, and in successful production at numerous printers around the world.

"The XP7 power class will accelerate adoption of LED drying for the fastest and most difficult applications in offset, flexo and digital" said Steve Metcalf, President and CEO of AMS. "With the XP7, UV LED curing intensity now exceeds that of even the most powerful conventional UV and High Wavelength / Low Energy UV lamps, providing improved, more consistent curing results without the side effects of warm-up, cool-down, heat, mercury, ozone and frequent bulb changes".

Positioned at the highest-end of the UV LED power range, the XP7 Series is capable of curing the heaviest coverages of inks and coating varnishes at top press speeds, and on the most difficult substrate materials, including poly films, metal-laminated stocks and specialty-treated papers at a fraction of the energy required of a conventional UV or IR/Hot Air dryer.

The XP7 utilizes AMS's patented PEAK LED-UV™ optical technology to deliver extremely high intensity curing within a dynamic working distance range up to 4 inches (100mm) away from the substrate, and at any format width, allowing fast adaptation to nearly any new or existing press on the market, and with the added flexibility to relocate a single LED module between a Printing Unit or an End of Press location, to meet multiple curing scenarios and production needs.

The XP7 will be offered alongside AMS' existing XP5 Series LED UV system, offering customers a choice of multiple power classes depending on the difficulty and/or speed of their applications.
