Luminus and Avnet sign PhlatLight LED distribution pact

Date Announced: 21 Feb 2008 -- LUMINUS DEVICES AND AVNET ELECTRONICS MARKETING LAUNCH PHLATLIGHT™ LED PRODUCTS DISTRIBUTION PACT-- Distribution Agreement with one of the World’s Largest Electronics Distributors Billerica, MA and Phoenix, AZ – February 19, 2008 – Luminus Devices, Inc. today announced a distribution agreement with Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), one of the world’s largest distributors of electronic components and computer systems. Under the agreement, Avnet will distribute PhlatLight™ LED products to Luminus’ general illumination customers throughout North and South America. Avnet will provide comprehensive distribution, design-chain services and supply-chain optimization to help Luminus’ customers accelerate product development for a variety of general illumination applications. Luminus will be supported through LightSpeed, Avnet’s specialized solid-state lighting and high-brightness LED business unit. LightSpeed features a team of dedicated illumination-focused "Illumineers," engineers who have experience in high-brightness LED technology, thermal management, power driver stage and secondary optics.
