Daktronics to install LED video displays in the largest railway station in Asia

Date Announced: 01 May 2008 Daktronics (Nasdaq-DAKT) announced today that it has been awarded a contract to provide 11 light emitting diode (LED) displays for Beijing South Railway Station (BSRS), the largest in Asia, in its passenger hall and underground transfer hall. The LED screens will be used both to inform and entertain passengers throughout the railway station. The new displays will be installed prior to the scheduled re-opening of BSRS on August 1, 2008.The expanded southern railway station in Beijing, is the starting point of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway and the Beijing-Tianjin inner-city line. The line will be operational before the Beijing Olympic Games, which begin on August 8. An addition to two existing major railway stations in Beijing, the south station will also cater to the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed line, whose construction is expected to start in the near future. The Daktronics LED displays will offer passengers an interactive mix of advertising, entertainment and information and will provide brand advertisers with a great opportunity to reach their audiences.Among the 11 displays, seven screens will feature Daktronics PS-6 (6 mm pixel spacing) technology, and four will feature PS-10 (10 mm pixel spacing) technology. All displays measure a total of approximately 654 square meters. This will be the largest high-density resolution LED video display application in China.
