RS to show latest Solid State Lighting Technology Solutions at euroLED 2008

May 8, 2008
Date Announced: 08 May 2008 -- Visit Stand LED25 to see the widest range of Solid State Lighting Solutions available from a high-service-level distributorCorby, UK -- RS Components (http://rswww.com) will be demonstrating the new Dialight Lumidrives RGBW LumiSpot-K2 LED engine, the ColourDriver XP four-channel LED driver and the PowerWhite linear lighting modules on Stand LED25 at this year’s euroLED. The Dialight Lumidrives RGBW LumiSpot-K2 LED engine and the ColourDriver XP four-channel LED driver come complete with easy-to-mount aluminium backing and integrated optics. The LumiSpot-K2 engine has been fitted with a thermal protection circuit to optimise overall thermal management and the OPT-K2 optics. The engine is supplied with a three metre cable with 10-way connector at the PCB end and tinned wire ends at the other, which interfaces directly with the ColourDriver. They have been developed for use in spotlights, floodlights, architectural and accent lighting and colour washing applications especially for use in night clubs, restaurants and bars.RS Components’ will also demonstrate the new modular low-cost Dialight Lumidrives PowerWhite linear lighting modules using LumiLED Rebel LEDS. PowerWhite is easy to mount and connect with integrated drivers, optics and heatsinks able to operate in temperature ranges of -30ºC to 55º (operating at 350mA). An onboard driver model operates from an 8-17VDC / 12-24VAC input. By utilising the latest 80+ lumen LUXEON® Rebel™ LEDs for cool white, 70+ lumen for neutral white and 60+ lumen for warm white PowerWhite provides fully modular linear arrays of ultra high brightness LEDs. Thus it has been specifically developed for use in linear, accent, flood, street and area lighting, and general illumination. euroLED 2008 is the fifth annual conference and exhibition dedicated to the science, technology and application of HB LEDs and solid-state lighting. Huge industry support over the past four years has firmly established the event as the largest conference and exhibition in Europe dedicated to HB LEDs and solid-state lighting, a fact borne out by the necessity to move the event to a larger home this year: the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.Highly manufacturer driven, the solid state lighting market is moving towards innovative, larger and ever brighter components and assemblies. Likewise, the luminaire market is seeing growing levels of sophistication and the desire to improve energy efficiency. The effect of this is to demand that component suppliers and solution providers develop new products extremely quickly. By offering a comprehensive and complementary range of LEDs, driver ICs, optics, arrays, modules, clusters, lenses, sensors, hardware and accessories from leading names such as Osram Opto Semiconductor, Philips Lumileds, Dialight-Lumidrives, Linear Technology, Cree and Enfis, RS is helping customers to meet these challenges.“Light emitting diodes offer major economic benefits thanks to low energy consumption, long-life and low maintenance and are the perfect basis for creative ideas and new lighting solutions,” commented Richard Eden, Market Development Manager for Electronics at RS. “With our Solid State Lighting offering RS is helping to provide engineers with the easiest access to the widest range of technologies, products, and solutions for all their application development needs.” Examples from RS’ complete range of Solid State Lighting Solutions will be on display on Stand LED25 at euroLED 2008.About RS ComponentsRS Components is a catalogue-based distributor of Electronic, Electrical, Electromechanical and Industrial Components.
