Bayer MaterialScience debuts new grade of Makrolon® polycarbonate resin for demanding, high-brightness applications

Makrolon LED2245 polycarbonate resin is specifically designed for demanding, high-brightness LED (light emitting diode) applications.Makrolon LED2245 polycarbonate resin offers high light transmittance, low haze, and improved thermal resistance, as well as the renowned impact strength of Makrolon polycarbonate resin, which is ideal for demanding LED lens / optic material.“Under harsh testing conditions, Makrolon LED2245 polycarbonate resin consistently outperformed other polycarbonate materials in retaining high transmission,” said Gerald DiBattista, market segment leader, IT, Electrical/Electronics Polycarbonates, BMS.Makrolon LED2245 polycarbonate resin also has a UL-94 flame rating of V-2.
