LedEngin adds three seasoned executives to management team

Date Announced: 18 Sep 2008 SANTA CLARA, Calif. - LedEngin, Inc., a leader in high power solid-state lighting (SSL) solutions, today announced the appointment of Michael Heise as Vice President of Worldwide Sales, K.R. Subramanian as Vice President of Operations, and Dan Caserza as Vice President of Finance and Administration. These three hires bolster LedEngin's already impressive management team as the company expands its sales force and scales its manufacturing operations to support marquee customers. "LedEngin welcomes all three executives to its management team. Each new member of the executive team will play a key role in taking the company to the next stage of growth," said David Tahmassebi, President and CEO of LedEngin. Michael Heise joins LedEngin from Future Electronics where he served as Corporate Vice President. Heise brings over 18 years of experience in international electronics component distribution and marketing. Heise incubated and led several significant sales divisions within Future Electronics, of which Future Lighting Solutions became the fastest growing divisions of Future Electronics focused on SSL. "We are delighted to have such an experienced sales executive join our management team. Michael brings a wealth of knowledge in building sophisticated international and domestic sales and distribution channels. In particular his experience in lighting at Future Electronics helps propel our revenue growth goals," said Tahmassebi.K.R. Subramanian is a veteran of the technology industry with over 23 years of experience in senior and executive management positions in manufacturing operations, engineering and business unit management. Prior to joining LedEngin, he was head of the business unit and operations at Antares ATT, formerly Kulicke & Soffa (KNS). He was the Senior Vice President of Operations and Engineering at NP Photonics, where he established the operational infrastructure, including developing strategic partnerships with offshore contract manufacturers. Subramanian was also part of a very successful IPO management team at ETek Dynamics and was responsible for ramping up integrated business modules revenue from start-up to $100 million. Prior to joining E-Tek Dynamics / JDS Uniphase, he worked at Hewlett-Packard Company, National Semiconductor and Read-Rite. Subramanian has several advanced engineering degrees, including an M.S. from SUNY at StonyBrook, New York and an M.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. "K.R. is an extremely valuable addition to LedEngin's management team and his hands-on experience in ramping up new products to high volume production and establishing and nurturing strategic relationships with contract manufacturers will serve our company well at this critical time of rapid growth," added Tahmassebi. Dan Caserza brings with him over 30 years of extensive finance and accounting experience with high-growth technology companies, both public and private. He has held Corporate Controller positions at several technology companies, and spent 11 years with Hewlett-Packard Company in various financial positions earlier in his career. Caserza, a certified public accountant, began his professional career with Deloitte Haskins & Sells in San Jose, CA. He received a B.S. degree in mathematics from Santa Clara University and an M.B.A. from the Santa Clara University Graduate School of Business. "We hired Dan because it is important for us to have a seasoned Vice President of Finance and Administration in place who can design and implement the required financial infrastructure to take LedEngin to the next level. His experience in senior-level finance positions and in building accounting departments, and his involvement in initial public offerings, M&A activity, SEC filings and the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliant processes, add to his significant financial leadership abilities," commented Tahmassebi.
