MHA Lighting wins contract to light up Manchester Airport carparks with LEDs

Date Announced: 16 Feb 2011 UK-based LED lighting expert MHA Lighting has secured a contract to supply LED lighting to Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 & 3 carparks.The forward-thinking firm, which specialises in innovative lighting solutions, triumphed over national lighting firms to transform the design of the carpark fittings at the UK’s fourth busiest airport.MHA Lighting created a retrofit solution that replaces the two thousand 80W bulbs across the two car parks with 30- and 40-watt LED units in a move which will halve carbon emissions and cut energy bills by an estimated 60%.MHA Lighting, based in Atherton in Greater Manchester, was selected due to its ability to design, manufacture and deliver powerful bespoke LED lighting solutions.Jonathan Beswick, Manchester Airport Project Technician, said: “After several months of trialling numerous lighting technologies and designs, MHA Lighting’s bespoke retrofit LED solution outshone all others. We were particularly impressed with the speed and efficiency of MHA Lighting to design, fit and test their product to our stringent criteria.
