Profits double at Dialight

Feb. 16, 2011
Date Announced: 16 Feb 2011 Newmarket-based LED specialist Dialight doubled its profits in 2010 and saw sales rise by 28%.Having said last month that full-year results would beat expectations, the Dialight group posted a pre-tax profit of £11.3 million up from £5.3 million in 2009 while revenue jumped 28% to £99.2 million. The LED signalling sector, which includes traffic lights, is a major market for Dialight, but over recent years the company has become stronger in the mainstream white lighting market. This growth has taken place mainly on the back of retrofit installations of its LED high bay lights for industrial applications, such as warehouses for Cambridge based March Foods and conference centres like ExCeL London, more than doubling sales of these LED luminaires to £11.6 million from £5.5 million.Roy Burton, Group CEO, described the results as 'a very satisfactory performance in solid state lighting and indeed in the whole signals and illumination segment.'He added: 'It gives us confidence in our strategy and in the group's prospects for the coming year.'
