Date Announced: 23 May 2011 Phoenix, Arizona – Clearwing Productions has completed the design, development and installation of the lighting and control system for the Channel 11 Broadcast Studio for the City of Chandler, Arizona.The new studio and owner requirements for the space proposed unique challenges requiring a creative approach in the design of structural, data management & control as well as an attentive approach to green design. Clearwing Design/Build team worked directly with the Smith Group to develop the structural mounting details and electrical requirements. The 40’ by 60’ studio space features a Strand Lighting C21 dimmer system with 96 full channels, as well as Strand Contact Relay Panels feeding power throughout the studio. A complete VisionNet lighting architect system allows DMX control of all devices through the studio and control rooms, using an LCD touchscreen interface. Main programming is accomplished via a Strand Lighting Preset Palette 2. Phillips Color Kinetics iW Reaches were installed for the studio fill lights, the first time such fixtures have been used in a broadcast studio space, featuring Tempest Lighting Reach Production Accessory Holders. The studio was also provided with IFF Rigging Pantographs to raise and lower LED panels, and sixteen Altman Spectra Cyc 100 fixtures to light the dual track curtain & cyc system.“Clearwing was very responsive and understanding to our needs and desires for a new lighting package.
