Date Announced: 18 May 2011 Indal WRTL has reached a new milestone manufacturing their 50,000th Stela at their Emmen factory in the Netherlands earlier this year. More and more installations are being completed every day confirming Indal as a world leader in the LED street lighting market.Customers in the UK are to be thanked for their contribution to the incredible adoption of Stela, with approaching 100 Local Authorities having installations. Lancashire County Council have led the way impressively and continue to break records for Stela on their own.Being the core lighting solution for the Birmingham Highways and Maintenance Management project as well, carbon reduction for customers is accelerating alongside manufacturing at an unprecedented rate. Stela has accumulated more than 180 million operating hours since installation saving in excess of 8,000 Megawatt hours of electricity and almost 4,500 tonnes of CO2.During a recent visit to the Indal factory senior members of the Amey project management team were invited to witness the latest technological developments, production capability and view a major working installation of the T-Line road tunnel luminaire. Demand for the Birmingham project had recently increased and production of the 50,000th Stela coincided with one of their orders during the visit.
