Azzurro completes management team to drive the company into the next growth stage

Date Announced: 06 Jul 2011 Magdeburg, Germany - AZZURRO Semiconductors, a pioneer and leader in GaN-on-Si technology has won three high profile industry veterans to complete its management team: long-term executive Andrew Bowd as VP Finance, Asian market maven Erwin Ysewijn as VP Sales & Marketing and former Siemens/Osram senior manager Dr. Stephan Lutgen as VP Technology. The three Vice Presidents will play a crucial role in driving the innovation leader into the next growth stage: The global roll-out of epitaxial wafers for LED and power semiconductor applications. He has a very strong understanding of technology due to being a Physicist and Chartered Electrical Engineer. Andrew has held key senior leadership roles in Manufacturing, R & D and Sales & Marketing in the UK, Germany and the USA with ICI, AstraZeneca and Advanced Micro Devices. Erwin Ysewijn, VP Sales & Marketing, Erwin started his marketing and sales career in 1989 working at Hitachi Semiconductors getting familiar with Japanese and international business culture. Since then the spent most of his time in large parts of Asia, covering among others, Korea, India, Taiwan and China, working on marketing, sales and strategic M & A projects, excelling in intercultural topics and growing the business. In his last position before joining AZZURRO he was heading the global marketing activities at Lantiq.Dr. Stephan Lutgen, VP Technology, studied physics/Ph. D. at University Marburg/Berlin. Stephan is an entrepreneurial executive with some 13 years of opto-electronic semiconductor products experience in international production, engineering and customer driven business at Siemens/Osram OS. He developed a variety of commercial opto-electronic products ranging from LEDs, V(E)CSEL and edge emitting IR and visible lasers for communication, illumination, sensing, material processing and visible-laser-projection.
