PennWell acquires LED lighting event - The LED Show

Date Announced: 03 Oct 2011 Tulsa, OK - PennWell Corporation, a diversified global media and information company, announced today that it has acquired the assets of The LED Show (www.theledshow.com), a Nevada-based event serving the lighting design and technology segment of the LED industry. The event is also affiliated with The Lighting Group, a manufacturers' representative agency, headquartered in Las Vegas, NV, which is focused on designing sustainable and eco-friendly lighting systems for LED, fiber optics, entertainment and hospitality projects. The owner of The LED Show, James Highgate, will serve as consultant to PennWell.Launched in 2009 by lighting designer and founder James Highgate, The LED Show is a conference and exhibition focused on the fast-growing lighting design and technology segment of the LED industry. The event attracts leading LED manufacturers displaying the latest technology and products for attendees to view, compare, and evaluate. The latest in LED fixtures from multiple sources are featured on the exhibit floor enabling attendees to make informed specifying or purchasing decisions. The LED Show was last held in July 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada for architects, electrical engineers, home builders, hotel engineers and designers, with 87 exhibitors and an attendance of more than 3,000 from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Korea, Japan, China, England, Netherlands, Australia, and Greece.
