Lumenpulse appoints Peter D. Karol Executive Vice President and General Counsel

Karol, an LED and technology legal expert, has joined as executive vice president and general counsel. Based in Boston, Karol will oversee all aspects of Lumenpulse’s legal strategy, including business agreements, intellectual property rights, corporate governance and regulatory management. Lumenpulse's latest leadership addition comes after recent appointments of other LED industry luminaries to its all-star executive team. This leadership group -- together with Lumenpulse’s specification-grade, sustainable products -- is focused on tapping into the LED fixtures market that totaled $3.8B in 2010 and is estimated to grow to $9B by 2014 (Source: Strategies Unlimited).A respected Columbia Law School- and Wharton-educated leader, Karol brings significant legal and business experience in the LED lighting sector, having served as general counsel to Color Kinetics through its acquisition by Philips.More recently, Karol served as general counsel at Joule Unlimited, a privately-held clean technology company in Massachusetts. He also served as general counsel at Lycos, the pioneering online portal, and as the deputy general counsel for publicly traded and privately held healthcare companies.
