Date Announced: 05 Feb 2013 Arnhem, NL -- Today an agreement was signed between DEKRA and the Korean Institute for of Lighting Technology (KILT) to establish a strategic partnership in Korea. KILT is the leading LED Lighting testing institute in Korea. It provides both photometric and safety testing services to the fast-growing Korean LED Lighting industry. Through extending its laboratory network into the Korean peninsula, DEKRA has taken a further step towards consolidating its position as global leader in LED Lighting testing. According to statistics published by IECEE, DEKRA is the world’s largest lighting certification body (as measured by the number of CB certificates issued in 2011 in the category LITE (lighting and luminaires). It is the intention for KILT to become a CBTL in this category in Korea under DEKRA NCB. DEKRA is also an official Zhaga Test Centre for LED light engine interfaces and the partnership will include collaboration in the area of Zhaga testing. In future it is hoped that KILT will perform tests on which DEKRA will base reports and certification marks, including CB, renown KEMA-KEUR, DEKRA Seal marks, and other international approvals such as INMETRO Mark or CCC. By joining forces with KILT, DEKRA further expands its global network of LED lighting testing laboratories.
