Date Announced: 24 Apr 2013 Kurt Versen’s MultiSource Recess Lighting System and Hubbell Building Automation’s WASP2 Dimming Outdoor Occupancy Sensor Win AwardsGreenville, SC – Hubbell Lighting, a world leader in lighting innovation, was proclaimed the winner yesterday in two product categories at this year’s LIGHTFAIR International (LFI) Innovation Awards. Elevating recessed lighting systems to a new level of sustainability, Kurt Versen’s MultiSource recessed lighting system won the recessed downlights LFI Innovation Award. Durable enough to operate in complex outdoor environments, Hubbell Building Automation’s WASP2 Dimming Outdoor Occupancy Sensor won the controls, building integration, site automation and distribution systems LFI Innovation Award.“Hubbell Lighting is known for producing best-in-class downlights and lighting control technologies—winning this year’s LIGHTFAIR International Innovation Awards in these two categories is a true testament of our leadership in these areas,” said Scott Muse, President of Hubbell Lighting. Kurt Versen’s MultiSource recessed lighting system brings a whole new meaning to fixture sustainability by providing the capability to use current light sources (remote phosphor LED, PAR LED, and MR-16 LED and metal halide) as well as the ability to use future sources. Currently available with over 10 product lines, MultiSource capability allows for the quick changeover of light sources by using plug and play connectors. Unique optical assemblies are created for each light source, assuring beam performance and brightness control. Now, designers can choose the appropriate light source for each downlight application—all within the same size aperture family. No more one source fits all solutions. Hubbell Building Automation’s WASP2 Dimming Outdoor Occupancy Sensor is specifically designed to provide 0-10VDC (Class 1) output for the control of dimmable LED, fluorescent and HID fixtures. Easy to use dipswitches allow the user to set unoccupied and occupied dimming levels. The sensor is available in end mount and surface mount versions in both line and low voltage options. Interchangeable twist-on lenses eliminate need for field masking. All WASP2 sensors feature a daylight sensor for on/off control of fixtures when there is sufficient natural light. The gasketed design of the enclosure makes it impervious to dust and water ingress making it an ideal sensor for outdoor and wet arduous locations including those with temperatures of -40° F/C.
