TÜV Rheinland launches new lighting certification and testing services with new US labs

Date Announced: 18 Jul 2013 Comprehensive testing program includes LED lighting; certifies compliance for product safety, EMC & international approvals Pleasanton, Calif. - TÜV Rheinland has launched new services to test and certify all types of lighting products, including LED, according to the U.S., Canada and global requirements – from product safety and international approvals to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). A network of new laboratories will be open in locations from West to East coast.Launched in response to a growing demand, the new labs will evaluate lighting products for a broad range of applications, including commercial, consumer and residential lighting. The products will also include LED equipment for use in luminaires, portable luminaires, self-ballasted lamps, low-voltage lighting systems, low-voltage landscape lighting, LED drivers, and dimmers/controllers. The extensive range of standards includes UL 1598, UL 153, UL 2108, UL 1993, UL 8750, IEC/EN 60598, IEC/EN 61347 and IEC/EN 62031 for product safety and FCC 47 Part 15B and Part 18, EN 55015, EN 55022 and EN 55024 for EMC.The labs will be conveniently located on both coasts to offer a fast turn-around time and reduced shipping costs to the U.S. manufacturers.
