The announcement was made by Terrance O’Toole, vice president, general manager of HessAmerica.Hess of Germany is an internationally renowned manufacturer of original design outdoor luminaires and site amenities. Established in 1948 as a foundry, the company would evolve into an innovator of architectural luminaires in 1968, collaborating with outside design professionals to develop exclusive lighting and site-amenity product designs. Thorn Lighting was founded in 1928 and is a global company with sales in over 100 countries. In 2000, Thorn Lighting became part of the distinguished Austrian-based manufacturer, Zumtobel Group. The synergy of the individual market segments and luminaire designs of Hess and Thorn adds a unique strength to the companies, and offers new product options to lighting and architectural-design communities.
