Verbatim to unveil efficiency breakthroughs in OLED and high brightness GaN LEDs at Euroluce

March 4, 2013
Date Announced: 04 Mar 2013 Verbatim will unveil groundbreaking technological advances in OLED and gallium nitride (GaN) LEDs that deliver unrivalled efficiency and brightness at Euroluce 2013 on Stand B38 in Hall 15.Verbatim LEDs using pioneering Gallium Nitride technology from Mitsubishi Chemical will be on view. GaN LEDs can deliver at least five times higher brightness than conventional LEDs which allows lighting fixtures to be made much smaller because of increased efficiency. Lighting specialists further benefit from greater design freedom with this breakthrough.Visitors to the Verbatim stand will be able to see the latest series of VELVE(TM) incorporating the world's most advanced dimmable and colour adjustable OLED technology. Verbatim's latest lightweight VELVE modules produce glare-free brightness of up to 2,000 cd/m2 - twice as bright as the previous generation. The new generation of Verbatim OLED panels achieve a luminous efficacy of 51.6 lm/W which equates to 70% greater efficiency than before. The company will present a new set of dimmable Classic A LED lamps for lighting professionals. Available in 7.5W or 10.5W to replace 40W or 60W traditional light bulbs respectively, all offer a wide beam angle (greater than 220°) and warm white light at 2700K. An IP65 protected 7.5W Classic A E27 is suitable for outside or wherever a waterproof LED lamp is needed.Verbatim will also display downlight fittings that complement the high-quality and reliable LED lamps it already supplies. The new range which perfectly fits Verbatim's PAR16 GU10 lamps is available in packs which consist of a white or aluminium fixed ring plus a holding pin, a GU10 socket and an electrical connection box. Available in two different IP protection ratings, the IP23 rated version is suitable for general-purpose lighting while the IP44 version offers better water resistance making it ideal for lighting in bathrooms and other wet rooms.Earlier this year, Verbatim announced that sales revenue from LED products is forecast to increase significantly over the next few years."The Verbatim brand has been at the forefront of data storage innovation for over 40 years. We are taking advantage of our experience of bringing hi-tech products to market in volume along with Mitsubishi Chemical's expertise in lighting technology to expand our LED lamp portfolio and increase our market position," said Jeanine Chrobak-Kando, Business Development Manager, LED EUMEA, Verbatim. She added: "We are looking forward to previewing exciting new lighting technologies at Euroluce and showcasing Verbatim's latest newest LED and OLED products.
