Quick, Accurate, Immediate Estimates with New QuEst-D Software

With just basic project details, contractors provide clients with on-the-spot lighting control system estimates.

Coopersburg, PA – Lutron Electronics, the leader in lighting controls and automated shading solutions, is helping contractors save time and secure more jobs with quick lighting control estimates for today’s smart buildings. QuEst-D Quick Estimating and Design software is an intuitive, web-based tool that walks you through basic project information to instantly provide a code-compliant, Lutron wireless lighting control solution, project estimate, and bill of materials.

“Contractors are increasingly dealing with labor shortages and compressed project schedules,” said Rick Walsh, Lutron Product Manager. “Lutron Vive wireless solutions simplify installation and setup and now QuEst-D software makes design, bid, and project estimates easier too. With QuEst-D, contractors can help their customers make an informed choice and deliver project estimates with higher confidence.”

Start with just basic project information

With QuEst-D, contractors start by answering basic questions about their project – such as square footage, building location, and project type. The software automatically accounts for regional codes and labor costs then generates, in real time, a suggested bill of material, pricing, and project estimate ready to present to the customer.

Along with one recommended solution, QuEst-D provides alternatives and highlights the benefits and cost of each option. For more in-depth reports and estimates, the contractor can add details about situations, schedules, and code needs. More information results in more specific estimates.

QuEst-D can also be used as a complementary tool with Lutron Designer+ software to layout project specifics on a floorplan and create full submittal reports as the project progresses.

Enhanced wireless opportunities

Lutron Vive wireless solutions offer simple and scalable lighting control for new and existing commercial buildings and help reduce labor cost while significantly increasing system flexibility. QuEst-D further minimizes risk and simplifies the project process with easy solution comparisons, accurate labor estimates, instant cost comparisons, and code-compliant solutions.

QuEst-D will be available late summer 2019 in the U.S. and Canada at no cost. This is a new, web-based tool that helps contractors be more competitive and more efficient in today’s fast-paced construction cycles.
