Events: lightsquare, automotive interiors, Freakonomics and more

Lightsquarelightsquare07 is a new lighting design event held for the first time in Cologne, Germany on January 15-21, 2007.

One of the events unique aspects will be the exhibit space, consisting of 62 identical giant cubes suspended above a base area. Exhibitors, expected to be both luminaire manufacturers and lighting designers, will display their products and concepts in these floating display cases.

OLEDs for Lighting
The second Plastic Electronics conference takes place on October 24-25, 2006 in Frankfurt, Germany. The Lighting & Signage symposium includes talks from Philips, Osram, Merck and Matsushita, as well as from research institutes and government representatives from around the world.

Automotive interior lighting
IQPC's Intelligent Interior Lighting conference takes place on February 6-7, 2007 at the Hotel Le Meridien in Frankfurt, Germany.

Covering interior lighting in automotive, aircrafts, marine and railway applications, this event has a strong focus on LEDs. Read our report from this year's event.

Freakonomics meets LEDs
Steven Levitt, author of the best-selling book Freakonomics, will be a keynote speaker at the LED Leadership Summit in San Diego, California on November 27-29.

Strategies in San Jose
Last but not least, Strategies in Light, the original LED conference now its eighth year, takes place in San Jose, California, on February 12-14, 2007.
