Light+Building 2012: Company announcements and new products, part 1

The Light+Building (L+B) 2012 trade faire takes place over April 15-20 this year in Frankfurt, Germany and features numerous company and product announcements in the LED and SSL areas.

Zenaro Lighting announces Deimos LED downlight

Deimos is an LED-based, recessed downlight with dual gimbal-mounted 25W spot lights. The luminaire offers CRI of 80 or more and Zenaro offers a choice of 2700K and 3500K CCTs. Buyers can also choose from 15° and 35° beam patterns, and the number of LED sources. Maximum light output is 3000 lm.

Everlight introduces Shwo D LED series in compact ceramic package

The Shwo D series is a surface-mount, high-power LED series featuring up to 110 lm at 350 mA of drive current with in a compact 3.5x3.5x0.58-mm package. The LEDs are suitable for all kinds of lighting applications such as general illumination, flash, spot, signal, industrial and commercial lighting. The LEDs can be driven at 1W maximum and come in a range of 3000K to 6500K CCT.

Nuventix launches new SynJet Coolers for LED thermal management

Four new additions to Nuventix's line of SynJet coolers for LED lights target specific applications – the Wall Wash Cooler 77W, Outdoor Cooler 70W and 77W, and Spotlight Cooler 57W. Each of these thermal-management devices build upon the inherent strengths of Nuventix SynJet technology, allowing for brighter, reliable, longer-lasting LED lights and accelerating the growth and adoption of LED lighting throughout the world.

Aura Light debuts a T5-like LED source for new installations

"This is a true long-life LED light source. We have done everything in order to provide our customers with the best LED light source on the market. And because smartly packaged LEDs don’t die young, we offer a solid eight year guarantee," said Martin Malmros CEO Aura Light International AB. The 100-lm/W source is similar to a T5 fluorescent tube but is designed for use in new Aura-specific fixtures rather than as a retrofit lamp.

Luminus big chip LEDs now deliver 120 lm/W efficacy

Luminus Devices, Inc. announced today that its white light LEDs are achieving 120 lm/W efficacy at standard test conditions as specified by the US Department of Energy (DOE).
