TE Connectivity to feature interconnect for lighting and building automation at Light+Building

March 3, 2016

HARRISBURG, Pa., USA – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and innovator in building automation, is demonstrating solutions that sense, connect and control today’s most modern buildings at the 2016 Light + Building Expo in Frankfurt, Germany from March 13 to 18. Also on display on the company’s stand (Booth B26 in Hall 4) will be various LED lighting interconnect solutions for indoors and outdoors. TE has a full line of LED lighting and building automation solutions.

Highlighted at the show will be TE’s just-launched Modular Releasable Poke-in Connectors for wire-to-board connectivity. The poke-in feature of these 4.0-mm pitch connectors allows for easy and fast installation, while a flexible solution is enabled by the connectors’ modular low profile, high density and compact design. Typical interconnect applications are in telecommunication systems, lighting systems, security and wire arrangement of architectures.

TE’s Nector M power system will also be prominently displayed. This is a flexible, fully pluggable, integrated solution for the permanent or temporary power and control of electrical installations, comprising modular wiring connectors and cable assemblies. Socket and pin connectors are available in 3-, 5-, 6- and 7-pole free-hanging and panel-mount types, in standard and sealed versions, for indoors and outdoors. The line-up also includes PCB mounted socket and pin headers.

Numerous other products and solutions in the vast TE portfolio will also be highlighted. They include:

The 2-Position Wire-to-Wire Connector, a compact molded connector with reliable poke-in wiring technology, providing a space-saving solution for indoor down-lighting, connecting power to the luminaire. Contacts are fully fixed in the housing and there is a lock bar for added dependability.
The Slim Wire-to-Board Connector, a housing-free, easy-to-use poke-in connector with strong retention ability. The conductor can be connected quickly without special tools, and the connector’s small profile saves space on the PCB.
LUMAWISE LED Holders that integrate thermal, electrical, optical and mechanical connections for leading-edge luminaires.
RT Inrush Relays for switching high inrush currents in a wide variety of lighting devices in building control and automation.
Finally, the booth will host TE’s unique Innovation Pit Stop, where the focus will be on showing concepts of what is possible in connectivity for the Internet of Things: connected buildings and homes, connected lighting and connected cities.

“The Innovation Pit Stop has the goal of exciting the market and engaging with TE customers and partners at a very early stage in development projects for the future of connectivity,” said Nick Jones, senior director and general manager TE Intelligent Buildings.
