Fern-Howard has made even more moulding capacity available for LED materials used in lighting designs, with two newly installed Negri Bossi injection-moulding machines – a VS330 and a VS430. Complete with Negri Bossi Sytrama cartesian robots for efficient operation, these new arrivals bring their machine inventory to twenty - ranging from 35 tonnes to 1000 tonnes clamp force.
The two new moulding machines have been complimented by a significant investment in a high capacity Piovan material drying and piped handling system and join a dedicated poured gasket seal facility and extensive finishing abilities.
Fern-Howard’s injection moulding expertise - producing components with a shot weight of a few grams to 3.5kg - is already well regarded, especially in lighting where they can reach the stringent standards and close tolerances that industry demands for LED materials.
This significant increase in capacity means this UK-based company is now ideally placed to offer plastic moulding capacity and project experience to the lighting and other industries.
