LED Eco Lights expands into Gulf region with distributor Sibca Electronics

April 14, 2014

Camberley-based lighting specialist LED Eco Lights has appointed an exclusive distributor to spearhead marketing and sales of its Goodlight LED range into the Gulf region. Following extensive negotiations, the company has agreed an exclusive distributor contract with Sibca Electronics which operates through a chain of six offices across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain.

Established in 1977, Sibca Electronics is widely recognised as a leading multi-service business focusing on the communication and building infrastructure sector including life safety, building automation, security and lighting systems. The company supplies a wide range of high quality and reliable products from the USA, UK and Europe throughout the Gulf region and provides comprehensive after sales support. New legislation in the UAE is soon to be introduced banning the sale of inefficient light bulbs and preventing low quality indoor bulbs from entering the UAE market. This new standard sees the UAE beginning to take its carbon reduction ambitions to a national level and, from the 1st July 2014, all incandescent forms of lighting must be replaced by CFL’s (Compact Fluorescent Lamps), Light Emitting Diodes (LED’s) and halogens. This legislation is driving the demand for LED lighting in line with the country’s wider energy reduction objectives. Speaking during his visit to LED Eco Lights’ headquarters in Camberley earlier this month, Ibrahim Lari, Chairman of Sibca Electronics, says, “Alongside Goodlight’s award-winning product range offering proven energy efficiency, we recognised the company’s impressive manufacturing and engineering strengths. As a market leader, Sibca Electronics has earned an excellent reputation across many industries and markets. We already represent a number of leading brands throughout the region and bringing Goodlight LED into our product stable marks the start of an exciting partnership for all concerned.” Goodlight LED’s typically consume around 70% less energy than their fluorescent counterparts, with no reduction in lux levels and with a lifespan that is at least five times longer. The Goodlight LED range is an ideal alternative to traditional tubes, spot lights, CFL PL lamps, 2D lamps, SONS, metal halides and floodlights to dramatically cut energy consumption, reduce costs and ensure compliance with the new legislation. LED Eco Lights’ extensive range of Goodlight products is suitable for both retrofit solutions or new builds and has already been specified by many of the UK’s well known names including the Ministry of Defence, Transport for London, Land Rover and British Airways. LED Eco Lights’ Co-Founder, Waq Bhatti, says, “We are delighted with this exclusive agreement for our Goodlight range to be distributed in the Gulf region. Our partners at Sibca Electronics have a wealth of experience and technical expertise plus a tremendous list of prestigious installations which will benefit from upgrading to LED lighting. Our Goodlight retrofit LED lighting range strengthens Sibca Electronics’ position to deliver key solutions that their customers want and, in turn, grows our penetration into the Gulf region with a partner offering engineering excellence and a huge resource to fulfil customer needs.”
