The company’s new production line will include a large assortment of anti-fog coating technology for both commercial and industrial applications. The coating technology will be optimized for simple lens laminations to all complex multi-functional applications. The automotive industry that depends on LED headlamps will gain from the following key technologies:

  • The permanent anti-fog films with pressure sensitive adhesives
  • The permanent anti-fog films without adhesives
  • The disposable anti-fog films. They are designed for single use

The company will also produce the custom made films. The technology will be similar to the anti-fog technology for LED systems used in merchandise fridges.

Recap of the anti-fog film for LED lighting in freezers
Some LED systems are used to illuminate the commercial refrigerated displays. As shoppers open the refrigerated displays, warm humid air flows into the display case with cool and less humid air. This results in condensation that reduces the overall light produced by the LED system.

Unlike the case for the fluorescent lamps that were used to illuminate the refrigerated displays, the LED systems cannot radiate power to curb the fog problem. Again, the LED light systems are preferred to the fluorescent lamps since they use less energy (watts). The LED lights have been designed to direct light on useful areas such as the display case and they do not radiate much heat.

Combining the anti-fog and LED technologies has improved the commercial refrigerated displays in a number of merchandise shops. This has greatly improved the shopping experience.

About the new anti-fog coating technology for LED headlamps
According to the Product Manager, the company will be targeting the automotive industry and small scale retailers. This is where the fogging of headlamps has been a common phenomenon. The fog reduces the light intensity of the LED lights. This has a negative impact on their performance.

The company has set up different laboratories to conduct research on the use of the hydrophilic layers that can be installed on the inner and outer sections of the headlamps. This is alongside other anti-fog films.

The company also intends to try the same technology that has been used in the motorcycle helmet such as the visor insert. The WeeTect anti-fog coating technology for the LED headlamps aims at:

1. Eliminating condensation in both the headlamps and optical sensors
2. Enhance stable light and viewing efficiencies
3. Conform to the safety standards
4. Reduce energy consumption

These anti-fog products have already been available in China with the products expected to reach the European and American market now. Interested companies can place their orders through the company’s website.
