Welcome to LEDs Magazine's News & Insights for Dec. 27, 2023. I hope everyone is taking it easy and gathering their thoughts for the New Year. Today's edition highlights the top four stories of 2023 from our website, as well as a focus on "the small things" — mini and micro LEDs.

There is a lot to be excited about in 2024 — including the BrightStar Awards! Don't forget to complete your entries by Dec. 29 for the Early Bird discount. But never fear; the program doesn't close until Jan. 26, so if you are still working on submission materials, there is plenty of breathing room after the Early Bird deadline passes.

Something else I'm looking forward to is the April LightSPEC West event in Anaheim, Calif. Our Lighting Group team is enthused about the new location with a layout for attending on-floor educational sessions as well as networking and demonstration opportunities with exhibitors. Even before that, we'll be attending LEDucation in New York in March. I'll feel like the old pro for once, with my colleague Linda Becker visiting the event for the first time, collecting all those first impressions and introducing contacts to the rebranded LightSPEC magazine after Architectural SSL aligns with our tradeshow brand in January. We'll start planning our NYC visits soon.
