Monocrystal enables high-volume LED and optical applications with 300-kg KY sapphire crystals

Stavropol, Russia – Monocrystal, a global leader in synthetic sapphire growing and processing, recently produced the world’s first 300 kg KY crystal.
Monocrystal demonstrated its capability to grow high quality 300 kg sapphire crystal through its proprietary modified Kyropoulos method.
Sapphire grown by Monocrystal has become the material of choice in such applications as LED manufacturing, optical products and RFICs, due to consistency in quality and ongoing cost reduction initiatives.
