GE Lighting, a designer of lighting products, has selected Agostino Renna as president and CEO of GE Lighting Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Renna’s most recent position was vice president of growth and market strategy for GE-Canada.
“Agostino Renna’s experience, leadership and significant sales and marketing background make him an outstanding person to continue the transformation of the Lighting business in the region,” said GE Lighting president and CEO Maryrose Sylvester. “Agostino has demonstrated outstanding management qualities and has the ability to sharpen our strategic focus to lead GE Lighting Europe, Middle East and Africa to achieve strong, sustained growth in 2013 and beyond.”
Renna succeeds Phil Marshall, who was president and CEO of GE Lighting Europe, Middle East, and Africa since 2008, until he decided to leave the company.
Before his position at GE, Renna worked at Johnson Controls Inc., a diversified technology company, for 14 years. During his time at Johnson he held leadership roles in marketing, sales, strategy, and general management.
Renna has spoken at conferences and roundtables with a focus on global energy challenges, and has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University.
