Sunlike is the closest LED light to the real Sunlight spectrum. Coming after the LED development in the lighting sector of 20 years with the trend towards higher luminous intensity accompanied by steadily lower costs, this was a statement of commitment to light quality; Toshiba‘s TRI-R-Phosphor Technology matched with Seoul Semiconductor‘s semiconductor technology achieves Sunlike spectra almost identical with a black body between 450 nm and 650 nm, beyond which the margins tail off at 350 nm and 750 nm respectively. Particularly noteworthy is the absence of a peak around 450 nm which is characteristic for conventional LED lighting and is considered the cause of sleep-wake cycle disorders, eye irritations and a lack of colour fidelity in reflected LED light. White light is generated with a mixture of RED, GREEN and BLUE. In conventional LEDs, a blue-emitting substrate material is sufficient - the red and green components are generated from layers of fluorescent material made of inorganic phosphor which transmits the blue light.
