At the same time, in Santa Clara, California, the Strategies in Light conference will focus on photonic crystals, a venue to which Obducat has been invited to speak to an audience of thousands about the new application areas for LED.Obducat was invited to speak at Strategies in Light in the US on account of being the only player on the market to have succeeded in developing a production method to create an LED lamp based on a photonic crystal. – Obducat’s technology has now moved from the laboratory to full scale production. During Strategies in Light, I will be presenting Obducat’s mass production solution for photonic crystals used in HB LEDs as well as the applications in which they are used today and in the future, says Marc Beck, Ph.D in Solid State Physics and Senior Application Engineer at Obducat.Subsequent to EU’s resolve in December 2008 to gradually replace today’s light bulbs, the market for LED lighting is expected to grow. LEDs can also be used in larger displays for stadiums and arenas, and for street lighting.
