LED Lighting Fixtures reaches 80 lm/W for warm white fixture

June 7, 2006
Date Announced: 07 Jun 2006 LED Lighting Fixtures Inc. (LLF) today announced another record in solid state fixture performance at 80 lumens per watt from its most recent recessed downlight. This product was tested by an independent lab as providing 600 lumens of warm white light at a color temperature of 3100 Kelvin, with a color rendering index (CRI) of 92. Total power supplied to the fixture from a residential voltage AC power source was 7.5 watts. The company used LEDs supplied by Cree. These results reflect a ten percent increase in efficiency from the company's previous record of 73 lumens per watt announced on April 24, 2006.Neal Hunter, LLF's CEO, stated, "The Company has set the world's benchmark for downlight products using light emitting diode (LED) technology. LLF is the first company to demonstrate a viable LED based downlight product that will appeal to high volume markets based on price and quality."LLF expects to manufacture its initial light fixtures by the end of the year and intends to offer LED-based recessed downlight products at a substantially lower price and significantly higher brightness and quality than other LED products currently available in the market.LLF's President, Mike Rogers, said, "When comparing the total cost of ownership over the lifetime of this type of LLF fixture, a 65 watt incandescent bulb solution costs more than five times compared to LLF's LED- based products, while compact fluorescent (CFL) alternatives cost nearly two times more without factoring the on-going maintenance expenses. LED-based solutions are expected to last for more than 50,000 hours or approximately 23 years without replacement when operating an average of six hours a day, this compares to a one year life for incandescent bulbs and four years for CFL products."The company used CSA International's Atlanta Lighting Laboratory to conduct the product measurement. CSA International is accredited by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL).About LED Lighting Fixtures, Inc.LED Lighting Fixtures, Inc.
