Dymax: monitoring ensures complete control of UV curing materials

Oct. 5, 2005
Date Announced: 05 Oct 2005 As part of the DYMAX line of UV-curing systems (spot lamps, flood lamps, conveyors) DYMAX offers a radiometer, called the ACCU-CAL™ 30. It affords more consistent intensity readings for UV light curing systems up to 10,000mW/cm². Because consistent adhesive curing depends on controlling the curing process by monitoring intensity, regularly and accurately monitoring of the curing light is critical for good process control. However, the power of radiant energy from high intensity UV and/or visible curing lamps can subject conventional radiometers to aging and drift thus risking unreliable measurement. The ACCU-CAL™ 30 intensity meter from DYMAX utilizes a special type of sensor that is more durable and more accurate with an enhanced ability to withstand high power UV radiation and high temperature. Readings are conveniently supplied in both Joules/cm² and milliwatts/cm². Calibration is required only once a year. The ACCU-CAL™ 30 is ideal for measuring the intensity of flood and focused beam lamps and those spot wand lamps where the intensity does not exceed 10,000mW/cm². The compact, hand held units include a sensor to measure intensity in the UVA spectrum, the range which is critical for curing most UV adhesives and coatings. The ACCU-CAL™ 30 is operated by a 9-volt battery, with approximately 100 hours of operating life, and comes in a sturdy carrying case. The unit has both PTB and NIST traceability.
