Date Announced: 24 Jan 2005 New from Pacer Components, the UK’s leading optoelectronics specialist, is a range of low cost, high speed and high power infrared LEDs.Manufactured by Knowledge-on of Korea, these LEDs are available in 5mm packages and are optimised to operate at either 850 nm or 875 nm.This family of devices have rise times as low as 10 ns with typical radiant intensity up to 100 mW/sr.Two types of beam angle are offered, from narrow angle with +/- 8 degrees to wide angle with +/-50 degrees.These devices are ideal for use in wireless data transmission applications including IrDA.
