Odeco has supplied a 234 m LED perimeter system containing more than 2.2 million LEDs in the San Siro stadium in Milan.

The San Siro stadium in Milan, Italy, home to the AC Milan amd Internazionale soccer teams, has installed 234 m of digital LED perimeter panels, lighting up the branding images from sponsors and advertisers with more than 2.2 million LEDs.

The San Siro LiveAdTM system, supplied by Odeco, has a 15 mm pixel pitch. Along with a similar system installed at Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium in the UK, this is the highest resolution system ever installed on a soccer pitch-side perimeter.

LED technology has dramatically changed the sports advertising landscape, making perimeters a powerful media tool and opening new advertising targets for rights holders to capitalize on.

LED perimeter systems have been in operation in the European football arena since 1998 when Odeco launched its first generation "speed time" system in Spain. Odeco has supplied systems to Spanish clubs including Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. The San Siro stadium is the first in Italy to install a LiveAdTM LED perimeter system.

According to Odeco, seven years of experience, as well as thousands of live matches, have gone into the improving the LiveAd configuration, manufacturing process and control software.

The system is transportable, easy and quick to install, safe for the players, shock resistant, and highly visible and resistant in all weather conditions. It is designed to give independence to every module in content management and communication and flexible in content and creativity.
