Infinilux introduces full spectrum, RGB light engine powered by Cree XLamp technology
April 7, 2006
Date Announced: 07 Apr 2006 New RGB InfiniPower light engines allow designers to rapidly develop decorative lighting schemes, innovative fixtures, backlights and general illumination products and are RoHS and WEEE compliant ensuring worldwide compatibility.Rancho Dominguez, Ca, April 7th, 2005 - Infinilux™, announces the introduction of the first full spectrum, RGB InfiniPower light engine capable of 16 million colors. The IP-FS series feature three 1-watt Cree XLamps, one each in red (620nm) green (525nm) and blue (470nm). This 5.0” (127mm) x 1.0” (25.4mm) module was specifically designed to address the needs of designers worldwide that are currently developing advanced solid state lighting (SSL) products for the decorative, hospitality and public spaces markets. These modules are based upon the industry leading Cree XLamp technology and incorporate a proprietary 0.075” (2mm) thick metal core printed circuit board (MCPCB), which allows for the control of thermal dissipation while providing an economical “plug and play” mounting method. The InfiniPower IP-FS Series operates on 2.2 VDC at 350ma (red) and 3.4 VDC (blue and green) and features a standard 100-degree viewing angle. Simple connection to a regulated power source via two solder pads per XLamp is fast and economical accelerating the design cycle and increasing manufacturing throughput. The IP-FS-RGB-100 is daisy-chainable allowing for long runs in series from a single constant current power supply and controller. No specialized epoxies, ovens or curing time is required as with other high-power LED modules. The IP-FS is 100% RoHS and WEEE compliant. The IP-FS series is customizable with individual optics that provides collimated or dispersed outputs and viewing angles of 15-degrees, 25-degrees or 30-degrees. Custom controllers, housings, lenses, optics and regulated power sources are available; please contact the factory for custom tailored designs. The new module is ideally suited for decorative lighting, safety and security, automotive/recreational vehicle/marine cabin lighting and backlighting of signage, legends and displays. The InfiniPower IP-FS module can be used as well in a host of application specific lighting projects at the consumer and OEM level including hospitality, theme lighting and public spaces.Anthony Vilgiate, Infinilux Staff Research Consultant said, “The full spectrum InfiniPower modules are simply amazing. There has never been a light engine at this price point that is capable of meeting such a diverse range of solid state lighting needs.” Vilgiate added, “The ability to connect a long string of modules to a single power source and controller affords designers a greater flexibility over traditional solutions.”InfiniPower IP-FS modules are immediately available from stock with standard pricing starting at under $25.00 per module in production quantities.
