SemiLEDs rolls out new class of Mvp(TM) LED for battery powered mobile appliance applications
Boise, Idaho -- SemiLEDs, a market leader in LED lighting with proprietary technology announces the release of its new-generation, high-brightness, low voltage LEDs designed for battery powered mobile applications.
These new GaN-based LEDs are available in Blue, Green colors and feature extremely low operation voltage, normally below 3V for standard current density, resulting in much longer battery life for mobile appliance applications such as flash for cameras, back light for notebook computer, small cell phone and PDA screens.
In SemiLEDs’s unique design of Mvp(TM) LED on metal alloy base, the lower voltage was achieved by a combination of proprietary technologies including careful design of epitaxial structure and current path in vertical LED chip configuration.
Available in a wide range of chip sizes, SemiLEDs new class of LEDs will significantly prolong the battery life for mobile appliances and simplify LED driver circuits, especially for cell phone flash, resulting in cost saving. These chips have been successfully introduced in the mega-pixel camera flash for the latest models of cell phones offered by a top maker.
