Acuity Brands expands outdoor LED roadway and street lighting portfolio

Atlanta - Acuity Brands, Inc. (NYSE:AYI - News), a market leader in innovative energy-efficient lighting and control solutions, has announced a major expansion of its outdoor LED lighting portfolio. Offered under Acuity Brands LED Outdoor, the portfolio includes solutions from six of the Company’s leading lighting solutions brands, Lithonia Lighting®, Hydrel®, Tersen®, American Electric Lighting®, Antique Street Lamps™ and Winona Lighting®.

New to the Company’s DRIVE application segment, addressing roadway and street lighting, is the American Electric Lighting Autobahn™ fixture, an attractive cobra-head LED luminaire that packs the lumen punch to directly replace 70-250w HPS (High-Pressure Sodium) cobra-heads while enabling longer service life and up to 50% energy savings. The Autobahn is compatible with the Acuity Brands ROAM® system, the Company’s industry-leading intelligent control solution, combining photo-control technology with wireless monitoring and control capabilities. Working together, LED lighting and intelligent control systems provide an integrated outdoor lighting solution enabling additional energy savings from day one.

Acuity Brands LED Outdoor roadway products are designed to meet IESNA RP-8 standards for roadway applications and their high-lumen output provides maximum visibility. The Autobahn incorporates Acuity Brands’ philosophy of providing the highest quality illumination while minimizing light pollution by putting light on task, not toward the sky.

The American Electric Lighting Autobahn will be available for order placement in May 2011. All of the new Acuity Brands LED Outdoor luminaires will be on display at the LightFair International Tradeshow, booth #1801, May 17-19, 2011 in Philadelphia, Pa.
