ATLANTA –– Acuity Brands, Inc. (NYSE: AYI), a market leader in innovative energy-efficient lighting and control solutions, is expanding its LED Outdoor WALK application portfolio with the introduction of the Tersen® Ratio™ 1.5 and the American Electric Lighting® AVPL™ to serve the nighttime needs of pedestrians outdoors.

Tersen Ratio 1.5 is contemporary styled luminaire supporting 48 LED diodes that produce illumination equivalent to a traditional 175-watt metal halide (MH) lamp. Its stylistic “finned” shape serves as a heat sink as well as an architectural statement, making it ideal for outdoor parking lots, walkways and mixed-use applications. The luminaire achieves a 50,000-hour life at 1000 MA with 70 percent lumen maintenance.

American Electric Lighting AVPL is a superior LED post top lighting choice for local roads, commercial streetscapes, campuses and green spaces. The AVPL is a die-cast aluminum unit with the same approximate size and weight as its HID counterpart, and includes the same installation-friendly features. With its Valiant Colonial-style dayform, the AVPL combines traditional styling with cutting edge technology and glare control.
