MaxLite forms strategic partnership with Redwood Systems, integrating LED luminaires into building-performance lighting control platform
West Caldwell, New Jersey - MaxLite, a leading, global manufacturer and marketer of energy efficient luminaires and lamps, has formed a strategic partnership with Redwood Systems, to integrate its MaxLED™ LED luminaires into Redwood’s building-performance lighting control platform.
The strategic partnership enables MaxLite LED luminaires to be remotely powered by the Redwood platform with the appropriate power and electrical properties for Redwood’s Class 2 power delivery system. They are “profiled” to enable automatic plug-and-play and full fixture auto-commissioning.
Redwood Systems has developed an innovative, energy-efficient lighting system that provides advanced control capabilities along with rich building performance data to improve the process used to illuminate, heat, occupy, and manage commercial buildings. Working with Redwood Systems’ platform, MaxLite luminaires deliver unparalleled energy savings and achieve best-in-class dimming while helping clients achieve LEED points and reduce costs.
“As a partner of choice for ambient lighting with Redwood Systems,” explained David Wyatt, MaxLite VP of Sales West. “We expect to find many synergies with our LED lighting line and Redwood’s control platform to build inroads into the low voltage electrical and lighting distribution channel.”
Unlike conventional controls that are complex, expensive and built around existing AC power systems, Redwood’s innovative approach combines power, control, and communication technologies over a single low-voltage wire or category cable. This DC-powered “self-aware” network architecture automates lighting and enables building intelligence. Redwood is a single system that is simple to install and commission as a cohesive network of fixture and sensor hardware, and administered centrally through a web-based dashboard from PCs and smartphones.
“The combination of MaxLite's high-quality LED luminaires with Redwood Systems’ low voltage power and control architecture offers incredible value to our customers,” said Bruce Pelton, Senior Vice President of Lighting Technology for Redwood Systems. “This combination enables a lighting system that provides the right amount of light through simple-to-use controls to maximize energy savings and luminaire lifetime. We are pleased to have MaxLite as a partner in driving the adaption of LED lighting and Redwood technology.”
MaxLite fixtures are tested and certified to work with Redwood System’s low voltage power and control systems.
