Pro-Lite provides Aurora Lighting with Labsphere integrating sphere
Pro-Lite has supplied a two-meter integrating sphere to Aurora Lighting, a UK-based LED lighting manufacturer. Aurora will use the sphere to accurately measure the total light output of their LED light sources.
The two-meter-diameter integrating sphere contains a Labsphere spectroradiometer, allowing for performance data more precise than that of a traditional photometer. The system reports lumen output, color temperature, color rendering index, chromaticity and binning accuracy.
Pro-Lite, a supplier of instruments for measuring light and the optical properties of materials, acquired SphereOptics GmbH in April, 2011 in hopes of expanding its light measurement business in Eastern-European markets.
Pro-Lite has supplied a two-meter integrating sphere to leading LED-based lighting manufacturer, Aurora Lighting. Aurora’s focus on energy efficient lighting lead them to purchase the sphere in order to accurately measure the total light output of their LED light sources.
The significant investment by Aurora is now displayed pride-of-place within their LightLab at the company’s Apex Park facility in Welwyn Garden City. The two-meter-diameter integrating sphere is equipped with a Labsphere spectroradiometer providing precise performance data, more accurate than that of a traditional photometer. The system reports lumen output, colour temperature, colour rendering index, chromaticity and binning accuracy.
The refurbished facility, known as Alex 2.0, is designed to immerse visitors in an environment where they can experience the difference between halogen, CFL and LED light sources as well illustrating the colour temperature of the different sources.
Pro-Lite provides test solutions for the UK lighting industry, offering manufacturers the opportunity to verify the efficiency of their luminaires, helping to ensure they go to market with trusted, reliable products.
