Telematics Wireless and Streetlight.Vision to offer intelligent street-light management system
The cooperation features the integration of Telematics Wireless’s proven energy resource management networks and Streetlight.Vision’s central management software
Holon, Israel and Paris France – March 27th, 2013) Telematics Wireless, a global leader in wireless energy and resource management systems and solutions, and Streetlight.Vision, the leading central management software provider for smart streetlight and smart street solutions, have announced a strategic partnership to reduce energy and maintenance costs for the rapidly emerging Smart City. Initially, the partnership will address cities and roadway authorities, by offering a robust and complete network solution for street and roadway lighting networks that features an easy to use and central control and management platform. Smart public lighting networks can drive reductions of more than 50% in streetlight energy consumption. Together with proactive and simpler maintenance, Smart Street Lighting can lower overall system costs by 30%.
Telematics Wireless’s T-LightTM wireless street lighting solution for municipalities and maintenance companies draws on the success of its Smart Grid and Smart Metering systems’ delivery of best-of-class service while lowering expenses. The partnership with Streetlight.Vision will further expand the flexibility and scope of the application, which is the first offering in a planned expansion to other solutions for the Smart City.
Streetlight.Vision’s General Manager Christophe Orceau states that “By joining forces with Telematics Wireless, a company that delivers solutions to the Energy Resource Management market, I believe we can propose the broadest Smart City management options to a variety of operational needs and scope. Our vision is that together we will contribute and integrate our experience and technologies, enabling municipalities to realize significant savings while ensuring the highest level of service.”
Eddy Kafry, Telematics Wireless President and CEO, sees the partnership as joining two technology leaders. ”Streetlight.Vision is recognized for its Central Management Software (CMS) and our T-Light systems express our proven experience in smart metering and sensor-based solutions and large scale wireless networks. I am confident that our joined strengths will deliver considerable benefits to our worldwide customers.”
How it all comes together:
Telematics Wireless’s T-Light establishes a wireless mesh network between all participating light poles as well as any other devices connected to the streetlight grid. It provides the operator with web-accessed, efficient, scheduled or real-time monitoring and control of the light level for each light pole, and thus enables the coordination of the lighting network for maximum efficiency and performance within various time frames, sites, and special occasions.
T-Light light control units, installed in each light pole, enable the transmission of information and the reception of control commands for the on/off or dimming luminary’s LED/HID fixtures and send reports on light status and parameters.
The information is routed via a data communications unit, using GPRS/3G or Ethernet connections directly to the Streetlight.Vision’s Central Management Software (CMS).
Powered by Streetlight.Vision, the open Central Management Software platform features automatic data collection, equipment inventory, user profile and access right management, data mart, easy configuration and commissioning, alerts about streetlight failures, their identification and analysis, central alarm management, scheduling manager, real time control on maps and operating reports. Streetlight.Vision CMS can run on the city’s server or on the cloud. Its user-friendly feature-rich web user interface is widely adopted by small to large cities in 15 countries.
